Description
When a recruit finished his two years of mandatory service in the German Army, he was given a document confirming that he had completed his two years with good service and conduct. This document is for a young man who was born in 1889. His last name was Weimann. He served in a very elite regiment, Kaiser Franz Garde-Grenadier-Regiment Nr 2. The regiment was founded in 1814. It was garrisoned in Berlin and attached to the Garde-Korps. Weimann served in Kompagnie Nr 5 with the regiment from 1909 through 1911. The document, which measures 13″ x 8 1/4,” was signed by his Hauptmann und Kompagniechef in 1911. It has been folded in quarters, but aside from a little foxing on its edges it is in very fine condition.
