Description
This is an interesting award document for an enlisted man or NCO (his name was Reich) in a Telegraph-Bataillon, who was awarded the Silver Military Karl-Friedrich Service Medal. This was an early war award which came on 16 November 1914. This decoration was the second highest award for bravery that an Enlisted Man or NCO could receive from the Grand Duchy of Baden. This award would have been similar to the Golden Military Merit Cross and the Military Merit Cross from Prussia. The document is in fine condition and measures 13″ x 8 ½.” This is a very rare document.
