Description
This is a militärpaß for a Bavarian named Wilhelm Veidt. Veidt was born in 1897. He mustered into the army on 4 April 1916. His first service was in the I. Ersatz-Bataillon of Infanterie-Regiment Nr 19. The unit was based at 1. Rekruten-Depot. He reported to the front as a member of this Bavarian regiment. He was posted to a Bavarian Flieger-Abteilung later in the war. Unit stamps appear from both regiments. The replaced cover of the militärpaß indicates that Veidt served in the army from 4 April 1916 through 17 February 1919. It is an interesting militärpaß for a Bavarian soldier/aviator.
