Description
Artillery shells that had been converted from their original use to vases were quite popular in Germany. Our example stands 9″ tall. It measures 3 1/4″ in diameter at the lip, and 3 1/2″ in diameter at the base. A flower complete with petals, leaves, and stem has been hand-fashioned on one side. Arsenal markings appear at the casing’s base. The shell was produced in November 1917.
