Description
This is a group that consists of original photographs, postcards, and an observation squadron map. The group has seventeen original photographs. They are quite varied and include a pose of the squadron’s ground crew posing in front of what appears to be a Fokker Eindecker, as well as the officers as they party-hearty. Some shots show airplanes flying, while others are individual poses of the squadron’s airmen. Two photographs display captured French and British airplanes. The other three postcards are detailed in the photos that accompany our description. Last, but not least, is a map used by German aviators for flight in Germany. When fully opened, the map measures 17″ x 14 ½.” It is stamped three times on the reverse and once on the obverse for “Fliegerstation Meß, Kartenberwaltung, 2. Komp. Flieger=Batl Nr 4.” The map is in color. It is a 1907 series that was updated in 1914. The map shows Berlin and the areas in the Northeast. The map, like the group’s other items, is in fine condition.
