PRUSSIA – RANGLISTE – 1835 – RANG und QUARTIER=LISTE

$150.00

This is a very early (1835) rangliste for the Kingdom of Prussia. It is officially known as the “Rang und Quartier=Liste.” As the Prussian Army was relatively small at the time, the book is small. It is a soft cover book measuring 4″ x 6 ½” x 2.” The title page has an Iron Cross on it. Its index page indicates that a total of eight ArmeeKorps existed in 1835. Further, Prussia had about forty-five infantry, thirty-five cavalry, and eight artillery regiments. The Prussian Navy’s officers were listed on a single page, as they had only TWO officers! It is a most helpful book for research, as many of the officers from the Napoleonic Wars were still on active duty. Doing a quick bit of research, we see that Capitaine von Damitz is shown in Infanterie-Regiment Nr 6, still at the rank of Capitaine. We also see that he was awarded an 1813 Iron Cross 2nd Class! As I said, it is a handy little research agent. It is one of the earliest ranglisten that we have been able to offer, and it is surprisingly good condition. You will want to exercise caution when handling it, but the pages are not brittle. [SALES ON ALL RANGLISTEN ARE FINAL. We do NOT send them out on approval, or for someone to do research and then return them. Please keep this in mind when ordering any rangliste].
