This is a 1914 Iron Cross 2nd Class in its original presentation case, which sports an unusual, arched-pentagon shape. The case measures 3 ½” x 3 ½” at the widest width, and 2 ½” x 3/4″ at its smallest. The black case is embossed with an Iron Cross’s image. The interior is white, with its silk-lined top stamped in blue with an Iron Cross and the words “Der Dank des Vaterlandes!” (The thanks of the Fatherland!). Its bottom is velvet-lined and molded to accommodate the Iron Cross. The 1914 Iron Cross 2nd Class is inlaid with black paint, which rates at 100%. The Iron Cross is in great condition. NO chips are evident in the paint, and it displays very little wear. The jump ring is also intact. NO ribbon is included.
