This is a book written by an American soldier who served in France during WW I. The book was written and released in 1918. The first edition was released in April 1918. This copy is a SIXTH edition, which was released in July 1918. Streeter served in the 27th (N. Y.) Division. The book is illustrated with thirty-five black and white drawings by a fellow Division member. It is a humorous look on war in France by a man who had never traveled before. It is VERY “country” When it was published, it was extremely popular. This is a quick read. I guarantee you will have a laugh or two (or twelve) with it.
