Description
This is sheet music entitled “Auf Feldwache.” It was written to honor the German poet Hermann Löns (1866-1914), who fell in action on 27 September 1914. He was an idealistic author of poems and stories. He volunteered for the army at the age of forty-eight. He was killed in action, barely three weeks after having volunteered. A patriotic motif is on the music’s cover. The song is dedicated to Löns.
