This is an intriguing photo album that deals with both prewar and WW I subjects. The album housing the photos is black leatherette and measures 7 3/4″ x 5.” The front cover displays a silver embossed 1914 Iron Cross. Below that we read “Aus grosser Zeit” (From a Greater Time.” The album contains a total of eighty-eight postcard-sized, original photographs. In addition, it has ten postcards. The bulk of the photographs is of individual soldiers or soldier groups in NON combat poses. We see photographs of men from Infanterie-Regiments 68, 95, and 133. We also see men from unidentified Garde-Regiments. Many of the poses deal with hospitals, wounded patients, nurses, and medics. We also see some Kaiser best annual infantry regiment shooting prizes on their uniforms. Several men are wearing shooting lanyards. The postcards cover a variety of topics, again both from before the war and during wartime.
