Description
This is a marvelous Vivat Ribbon that commemorates the Central Powers members in 1915. Vivat Ribbons were produced primarily during WW I’s early years to help boost patriotic support and support for the German Red Cross. The handsome gray ribbon is made of silk and measures 2 ½” x 16.” Embossed on the ribbon in black are the members of the Central Alliance: Germany, Austria, Hungary, and Turkey. Above the members’ names we see three swords tied together that commemorate the members (Austria and Hungary share one sword, being a single Empire). The Vivat is in very fine condition. [PLEASE NOTE: we have a very special period collector’s album that was designed specifically to house Vivat Ribbons].
