PEN AND INK DRAWING – GENERALFELDMARSCHALL AUGUST VON MACKENSEN.
This is a postcard that comes from an original, black and white, pen-and-ink portrait of Generalfeldmarschall August von Mackensen (1849-1945). He is wearing a standard uniform (NOT his famous Hussar attila), with his PLM at his throat. His stern visage and large moustache make him appear the way every German General SHOULD have looked! The name of the artist appears on the tunic, along with the date, 1915. The postcard has never been mailed.
