Unearth an exceptional find – an exquisite example of a One-Year-Volunteer’s pickelhaube, meticulously fashioned for Dragoner-Regiments Nr 20, Nr 21, and Nr 22. Hailing from the Grand Duchy of Baden, this outstanding helmet boasts a captivating history and unparalleled quality, making it an extremely sought-after addition to any esteemed collection.

The three renowned Dragoner-Regiments, 1. Badisches Leib-Dragoner-Regiment Nr 20, 2. Badisches Dragoner-Regiment Nr 21, and 3. Badisches Dragoner-Regiment Prinz Karl Nr 22, formed Baden’s entire Kavallerie contingent and were attached to the XIV. Armeekorps. Our offering features a truly exceptional officer’s pickelhaube from one of these esteemed regiments, showcasing a squared-off front visor, a truly unique feature found only in Dragoner helmets throughout Germany.

Skillfully preserved, this pickelhaube displays a leather body in remarkable condition, gracefully defying the passage of time. The exquisite silver furniture, including the wappen, cruciform, spike, and trim, emanates a timeless allure, boasting an extraordinary patina that adds an air of prestige. A fascinating contrast arises in the gilt-toned chin scales and officer stars, hinting at the officer’s tasteful preferences for this otherwise officer-level pickelhaube.

Unraveling its rich history, a single Baden officer’s kokarde adorns the right side, hinting at its manufacture and use prior to 1897. Baden’s national colors of red and gold embellish the kokarde, featuring an elegant pattern exclusive to select states, such as Saxony, Württemberg, and Hesse-Darmstadt.

Beneath the surface, a handsome leather sweatband ensures comfort and endurance. The brown silk liner, though complete, bears captivating signs of wear, reminiscent of its storied past. Notably, the wappen’s attachment with a leather thong reaffirms its connection to a One-Year-Volunteer.

As pioneers of the most refined spiked helmets, or pickelhauben, Der Rittmeister Militaria remains committed to ORIGINALITY, AUTHENTICITY, CONDITION, and QUALITY. Each pickelhaube is meticulously handpicked to offer collectors helmets that transcend expectations.

Embrace the allure of this historical gem – an exquisite One-Year-Volunteer Officer Pickelhaube symbolizing a bygone era of masterful craftsmanship and cherished legacy. Embrace a piece of history today.
