This postcard shows Kaiser Wilhelm II (1859-1941) in a Husaren officer’s dress uniform. His pelisse (pelzatilla) is draped over his attila’s shoulder. These normally featured a shearling sheepskin collar and trim down its center. If you look carefully, however, you will note that the Kaiser’s trim is ermine. He is wearing a wide assortment of orders and decorations, as well as a general’s shoulder boards and aiguillette. Below his likeness is the saying “Ich kenne keine Parteien mehr, Ich kenne nur Deutsche.” (I know no more parties, I know only German). The postcard was mailed in January 1915
