Description
This is a pair of shoulder boards for an Oberstleutnant serving in Fußartillerie-Regiment von Linger (Ostpreußisches) Nr 1. The regiment was raised in 1864 and garrisoned at Königsberg i.Pr. It was assigned to the I. Armeekorps. Fußartillerie-Regiments were a relatively “modern” creation in the German Army, with all but one of these regiments founded from 1864 onward. Fewer Fußartillerie-Regiments were formed than Feldartillerie-Regiments. These shoulder boards are in top condition. Each has the numeral “1” on the board, as well as an oberstleutnant’s single pip. The backing on the reverse is white. This is a pre 1910 pair of slip-on shoulder boards. They are quite scarce.
