Description
This postcard shows Princess Marie Auguste (1898-1983) of Anhalt, the wife of Prinz Joachim (1890-1920), Kaiser Wilhelm II’s youngest son. She bore Joachim one son before their divorce and his suicide in 1920. In the photograph she is seated at a table that holds a pair of white evening gloves, pensively staring off-camera.
