SOUTHWEST AFRICA – MEDAL BAR – THREE PLACE – SOUTHWEST AFRICA – HINDENBURG CROSS – 25 YEARS SERVICE
It features the three medals listed below from left to right.
1). The German Southwest Africa Combatants Medal, with two campaign bars. The bronze-toned decoration was awarded from 1904-1906 for combating this Imperial German colony’s native opposition. The two campaign bars (which add significant value to the decoration) are for “Hereroland” and “Gross-Namaland.” Both campaign bars were attached to the ribbon decades ago. They have NOT been recently added.
2). The Hindenburg Cross with Swords for Combatants. In addition to the swords ON the decoration, the medal bar’s owner had gilt-toned, crossed swords added to its ribbon.
3). The Prussian Twenty-Five-Years Long-Service Award. This award was intended for officers.
