Description
PRUSSIA – EPAULETS – WACHMEISTER – GARDE-ULANEN-REGIMENT NR 1
This is a wonderful pair of epaulets for a Wachmeister (A Senior NCO) who served in the most senior of Prussian Ulanen-Regiments, Garde-Ulanen-Regiment Nr 1. This regiment was raised in 1819 and was garrisoned in Potsdam where the most elite regiments were quartered. Among those regiments were the Regiment des Garde du Corps and 1. Garde-Regiment zu Fuß. Like all Garde-Regiment, it was attached to the Garde-Korps.
The primary color of the epaulet is a white felt, which identifies this as being Garde-Ulanen-Regiment Nr 1. On the tongue of each epaulet, there is a very fancy silver bullion tape. The metal “moon” which circles the white felt is silver toned. The reverse is also a fine white felt. The overall condition of the epaulets is excellent.
