Description
This postcard shows Kronprinz Rupprecht of Bavaria. It is interesting that the charcoal drawing of Rupprecht shows him with the Order Pour le Mérite and the 1914 Grand Cross of the Iron Cross around his neck. While Kronprinz Rupprecht was a PLM-winner, he was NEVER awarded the 1914 Grand Cross of the Iron Cross. The only Bavarian to receive it was Prinz Leopold, a very able generalfeldmarschall and army group commander.
