Description
This is a pair of 3. Garde-Regiment zu Fuß leutnant’s shoulder boards. The regiment was founded in 1860. It was garrisoned in Berlin and attached to the Gardekorps. The shoulder boards measure 4 1/4″ x 2 1/8.” They are of the slip-on variety, which is quite unusual for a leutnant. More commonly, they wore sewn-in shoulder boards. The boards sport a yellow underlay that protrudes beyond their edges. They are in excellent condition.
