This Sanke Card Nr 608 is of Oberleutnant Friedrich Christiansen. Christiansen was one of three Naval aviators to be awarded the Pour le Mérite.
He would go on to serve before and during the Third Reich period. He was also one of the last living PLM winners.
This Sanke card has the benefit of having an autograph on both the obverse and reverse.
The obverse signature has his name and the dates 1914-1918.
The signature on the reverse has his name and the name of the Seaplane base along with the dates 1914-1918.
A rare opportunity to have his double signature.
