This is a Navy Wound Badge in silver. The Army Wound Badge was instituted in March 1918. The Navy Wound badge was instituted in June 1918. Each of the armed services awarded their wound badges in three classes. 1st Class being gold, 2nd Class being silver and 3rd Class being black.
Our offering is the 2nd Class in silver. The obverse displays honest wear. The reverse has its pin in place. The badge is stamped.
