Description
This postcard, which is from a 1906 painting, features a hot-air balloon with two French occupants either escaping from or attacking German cavalry. French soldiers are faintly visible on the hill behind the balloon. The title at the card’s bottom reads “Salon de 1906. – Le Porteur de Dépêche, par R. Arus” (Salon of 1906. – The Dispatch Bearer, by R. Arus).
