Description
This is the Southwest African Service Non Combatants’ Medal. This medal was awarded in gold for combatants and silver for non combatants for service during 1904-1906 actions in Southwest Africa against native tribes. Campaign bars and/or spangen often were awarded as well and attached to the medal’s ribbon.
This is a miniature of the non combatants’ medal.
The obverse shows a profile of Germania.
The other side has Kaiser Wilhelm II’s royal cypher. A gilt-toned bale appears at the top where a chain could be looped through. It is in very fine condition. [Buy this example along with the Miniature for the China Commemorative Service Medal for Non Combatants $295.00 ].
