This is a rangliste from 1864. It is a helpful book, not only for the year 1864 (in which the 1864 Danish-Prussian War occurred), but for the late 1850’s and officers who served then. It also sets the stage for officers who may have served in the 1866 Austro-Prussian War and the 1870-1871 Franco-Prussian War. As is typical of this type of book, it lists all Prussian regiments and sub organizations. It has an index in the back where you can search for individual officers, then refers you to the officer’s specific entries. The book measures 4 ½” x 7 ½” x 1 ½.” It also lists officers for the very small 1864 Prussian Navy. While the book is more than one-hundred-forty-five years-old, it is in remarkable condition.
