PRUSSIA – RANGLISTE – 1874

$250.00

This is another amazing Rangliste. It is for the Prussian Army during the year 1874. It will be particularly helpful to collectors and researchers with an interest in the 1870-1871 Franco-Prussian War. Many of the officers who served during that conflict have remained in service. While the book is dated 1874, it actually contains army officers from 1873, and perhaps early 1874. The book measures 8 1/4″ x 5 x 2 31/2.” It is more consistent (in terms of size) with ranglistes produced from 1895 through 1913. Another fascinating fact is that it once belonged to the German War Ministry. It also displays a book control tag on the inside cover that indicates it once belonged to the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C. The book contains the standard regimental listing by officer’s rank of each man assigned to that regiment. It excludes regiments from Braunschweig, Saxony, Bavaria, and Württemberg. It also lists the officers, including commanders, from each Brigade, Division, and ArmeeKorps. Its binding has been repaired. It is an amazing artifact that is more than one-hundred-thirty years-old! [SALES ON ALL RANGLISTEN ARE FINAL. We do NOT send them out on approval, or for someone to do research and then return them. Please keep this in mind when ordering any rangliste].
