Description
Dive into the history of a Bavarian hero with our Autographed Sanke Card Nr 540 featuring Oberleutnant Adolf Ritter von Tutschek. Von Tutschek’s journey from a brave infantryman on the Eastern front to a renowned pilot is woven with valor and awards, including the prestigious Bavarian Military Order Max Joseph.
Beginning as a Bavarian infantryman, von Tutschek’s bravery earned him the 1914 Iron Cross 1st and 2nd Class. The pinnacle of his military honors was the Bavarian Military Order Max Joseph, which came with the knighthood and the title “Ritter.” Transitioning to single-seater planes, he served in Jasta 12 and 52 before commanding Jagdgeschwader Nr II, receiving the Pour le Mérite in 1917. His total victories before his death reached twenty-three.
This rare Sanke card captures von Tutschek in a waist-up portrait, adorned with a Bavarian pilot badge, Iron Cross 1st Class, and a ribbon bar. Notably absent is his Pour le Mérite, dating the photo before his 1917 award. His clear and distinct signature in black ink reads “v. Tutschek.”
Preserved in mint condition and never removed from an album, this card comes from the esteemed collection of a Berlin-based collector and has been recently offered to us by his daughter. Don’t miss the chance to own a piece of aviation history with this Autographed Sanke Card of Oberleutnant Adolf Ritter von Tutschek.
