BAVARIA – MILITARY MERIT CROSS – 3RD CLASS – WITH CROWN AND SWORDS
The Military Merit Cross was founded by King Ludwig II around the time of the Austro-Prussian War of 1866. Bavaria was on the losing side with Austria.
The Military Merit Cross was awarded in three classes. Each class was awarded without Swords during the peacetime. During War it was awarded with Swords or with Crown and Swords. The Crown was for a higher level of accomplishment.
Today we offer a fine example of the Military Merit Cross with Crown and Swords. It has a large articulated Crown which the ribbon is attached. It is in fine condition and has the correct ribbon.
