CHINA – COMMEMORATIVE SERVICE MEDAL – NON COMBATANTS – MINIATURE
The English translation for the China Denkmünze is the Chinese Commemorative Service Medal. The medal was awarded in gold for combatants and silver for non combatants for service during the 1900-1901 Boxer Rebellion. This is a miniature of the non combatants’ medal. It measures 1/2″ in diameter. The obverse shows a German Eagle battling and conquering a Chinese Dragon. The other side has Kaiser Wilhelm II’s royal cypher. A gilt-toned bale appears at the top where a chain could be looped through. It is in very fine condition.
