CIGARETTE TIN – brand “The Duke of Edinbourgh Flaggengala”
In Imperial Germany, most cigarettes came in tin boxes of varying sizes. The manufacturers produced these tins in ranges from 20 to 25 to 50 or 100 cigarettes. Many different types of cigarettes were advertised in a multitude of ways. Also, it was common to be given cigarette cards with one’s purchase. These could be for a variety of subjects, like orders and decorations, uniforms, etc.
This box holds twenty cigarettes. It is for the brand “The Duke of Edinbourgh Flaggengala,” which was manufactured by the firm Garbaty in Berlin-Pankow.
It is in very fine condition.
