COLLECTING GUIDE – HEADGEAR of the 1914 GERMAN ARMY.
This metal spiral-bound, soft cover book of over 240 pages is richly illustrated with over 40 pages in full-color, and over 70 more pages with partial color. The book is intended to be a basic reference on the Imperial German Army’s headgear in 1914. Each style of helmet is described and illustrated to help collectors at all levels, from the eager beginner to the seasoned connoisseur. A section within each helmet description addresses the exceptions to the rules that are found throughout our hobby. It has a detailed section on general officers’ helmets, as well as another photo gallery of the nobility (Royals) wearing various pieces of headgear. A section on the helmets sporting the unique bandeaux (honor banners) explores the individual battles or events honored, including maps and descriptions of the battles and their participants.
