Description
Großadmiral Alfred von Tirpitz (1849-1930) was the architect of the modern German Navy. He served as Secretary of State of the German Imperial Naval Office, the Kaiserliche Marine’s powerful administrative branch, from 1897 until 1916. He was also a proponent of unrestricted submarine warfare. The postcard was not mailed.
