Description
This is a color postcard of Bavaria’s Prinz Regent Luitpold (1821-1912). Luitpold succeeded Ludwig II in 1886 when Ludwig II was removed from power and then mysteriously drowned while walking beside a lake. Luitpold held titular control over Bavaria from 1886-1912. The postcard shows Luitpold on the occasion of his 90th birthday, 12 March 1911. The postcard was mailed.
