Description
This postcard shows a very elderly Prinz Regent Luitpold of Bavaria. Luitpold was installed as Prinz Regent when (Mad) Ludwig II was removed as King in 1886. The postcard celebrates his holding this post from 1886 through 1911. The reverse displays two very colorful stamps that were issued in 1911 to celebrate the event. I have not seen the stamps before this. They are a major part of the postcard’s value.
