PATRIOTIC BOX – “Kriegs – Erinnerungen 1914/15″
The German people were extremely patriotic both before and during WW I. It was only toward the end of the war that their patriotism and love for the Kaiser faltered under the war’s constant deprivations. Today we are offering a lovely early-war patriotic box, from when patriotism was running high. Any number of personal treasures could be housed inside. The box measures 1 ½” x 5 ½” x 9 ½,” and is covered in handsome magenta leatherette. A small black and gold-trimmed enamel Iron Cross appears in its upper left corner. The right lower corner features the legend “Kriegs – Erinnerungen 1914/15” in gold. It sports a lock on the front, but the key is long gone. Its interior is lined with more of the magenta leatherette. Two of its exterior corners display some light damage that is NOT detractive to its overall presentation. The box is in well-above-average condition. It would look fantastic on your desk or dresser holding YOUR treasured items.
