GERMANY – BOOK – GERMAN HELMETS KAISER WILHELM II – ALBUM OF PHOTOGRAPHS – DIDIER LAINE

Didier Laine was a well known author of numerous books on Imperial Germany. His best known work was “L’ Armée Allemande en 1914″ (The German Army in 1914). This is a misnomer as it deals with the army prior to and after 1914. It is a veritable storehouse of information. It deals with headdress, uniforms, shoulder boards/epaulets, etc. It also helps with the identification of colors for these various items.

This book was published in 1984. I just happened to see that there is one on offer on Amazon for $746.86! What we offer is a portfolio of photographs of Laine’s book and collection. As a part of this portfolio there are TWENTY-THREE photographs that actually came from his book. They are numbered Planche 1-23. They are the key photographs from the book.  They show other views of his massive collection.

The final detail is a hand written letter to a collector in English. It is dated 1986 and he conveys the portfolio to the collector. This makes for a fine photographic collection that relates to one of the best ever and useful collection of Imperial German headdress and uniforms ever.
