GERMANY – PATRIOTIC PIN – NAVY COMPASS/PENDANT
Patriotic items from the Imperial German period never cease to amaze me. Here is something that I have never encountered before now. It is a pendant that is shaped like a naval anchor with the Hohenzollern Crown at the top. At the bottom by the anchor, we find a small compass that measures 9/16″ in diameter and still operates! A loop appears on its reverse where a chain or safety pin could secure it. If you are looking for a very different naval piece, this is it!
