GERMANY – PATRIOTIC PLATE – GENERALFELDMARSCHALL PAUL VON HINDENBURG
Gold adorned, hand painted, porcelain patriotic plate, devoted to Generalfeldmarshall Paul von Hindenburg.
At the beginning of WW I was Paul von Hindenburg was recalled from retirement. He lead his forces to defeat the Russians on the Eastern front at the Battle of Tannenberg. Paul von Hindenburg later was promoted to Generalfeldmarschall and commanded to all Central power troops in the East. He then took command of the post of the Chief of the Great German General Staff responsible for all German troops.
Following the war he was still held as a national hero and would go on to be the President of Germany with Adolf Hitler becoming his Chancellor in 1933.
