GERMANY – PATRIOTIC SPOON – VÖLKERSCHLACHTDENKMAL
This is a terrific patriotic collector’s spoon that commemorates the Völkerschlachtdenkmal in Leipzig. This memorial was dedicated in 1913, commemorating the 100th anniversary of the Napoleonic Wars. This dainty spoon was produced for period collectors. The inside bowl of the spoon features the monument’s multicolored enamel likeness. The shaft and trim of the bowl are gilt-toned. A multicolored enamel Saxon Coat-of-Arms tops the handle. The spoon is very well made, and in very fine condition.
