This is Sanke card Nr 526. The subject is Leutnant Lothar von Richthofen. He was the younger brother of Manfred von Richthofen. He would survive the war, although he suffered injuries on more than one occasion. His total score was forty confirmed victories in a relatively short time at the front.

This pose shows his seated. He is holding his schirmmütze and sword. He is also wearing a Pour le Mérite which has been airbrushed in. After his name there is a coss that has been added to indicate his death in 1922. The postcard was mailed by general post in 1917.
