Max Ritter von Mulzer (1893-1916 ) was a Bavarian and early Orden Pour le Mérite winner and the first Bavarian to be so honored. He was also awarded the Military Max Joseph Order which was the highest award for military valor which also included a knighthood and the right to add “Ritter”. He scored all ten of his victories in variations of the Fokker Eindecker….

GERMANY – SANKE CARD – RITTER MAX von MULZER – NR 379

Max Ritter von Mulzer (1893-1916 ) was a Bavarian and early Orden Pour le Mérite winner and the first Bavarian to be so honored. He was also awarded the Military Max Joseph Order which was the highest award for military valor which also included a knighthood and the right to add “Ritter”. He scored all ten of his victories in variations of the Fokker Eindecker.

In this pose we see him from the chest up. Please note the winged propeller of the Fliegertruppen on his shoulder board (As many of these cards as I have had over the years I never noticed this until now.). Also the ribbon for the 1914 Iron Cross 2nd Class. This photo was taken before his award of the Orden Pour le Mérite.
The postcard is in excellent condition and not been mailed.
