GERMANY – SANKE CARD  – RITTER MAX von MULZER  – NR 385

Max Ritter von Mulzer (1893-1916 ) was a Bavarian and early Orden Pour le Mérite winner and the first Bavarian to be so honored. He was also awarded the Military Max Joseph Order which was the highest award for military valor which also included a knighthood and the right to add “Ritter” to his name. He scored all ten of his victories in variations of the Fokker Eindecker.

This pose shows von Mulzer from the legs up. On his low left breast we see the Bavarian pilot badge and the 1914 Iron Cross 1st Class. By the time that this photo was taken he had been awarded the Orden Pour le Mérite. Thus we see by the Sanke numbers that this is a later and updated pose of him.
This postcard is in excellent condition and has never been mailed.
