GERMANY-  SANKE CARD – RITTMEISTER MANFRED FREIHERR von RICHTHOFEN – NR 533

Little need to be said about the career of Manfred von Richthofen. He was the ace of aces during WW I and no one sparks more interest in the history of aviation than him.

This Sanke card Nr 533 shows him wearing the ulanka which an ulan cavalry man would wear. He is also wearing a visor cap on his head. Pinned on the left breast of his ulanka he is wearing the Prussian pilot badge and 1914 Iron Cross 1st Class. Pinned to the top button on the right side of his tunic is the ribbon for the 1914 Iron Cross 2nd Class. Above all worn around his neck is the coveted Orden Pour le Mérite, the highest award for military valor that Germany could award.

On the reverse we see the double rubber stamp of a collector in Berlin.

The card is in excellent condition.
