GERMANY – STICKPIN – WOUND BADGE – NAVY – SILVER

This is a larger example of the stickpin for the Navy wound badge in silver.

The Navy wound badge was authorized in June 1918 whereas the Army version was authorized in March 1918. The wound badges were issued with a document in three classes. Gold was 1st Class, Silver was 2nd Class, and Black was 3rd Class.

This stickpin is in excellent condition and is more highly prized than stickpins with the smaller badge as there were fewer of the large badges produced.
