HISTORY OF AVIATION: 50 OF THE GREATEST AIRCRAFT IN THE HISTORY OF FLIGHT

$35.00

This is an English-produced book from, I would guess, the 1960’s or 1970’s. It chronicles what the author feels are the 50 greatest aircraft in history. It features a write-up about each of the various aircraft, which is then adorned with a small card displaying its picture. The card measures 5″ x 7 1/2,” and is pasted in with the description. Does this sound familiar? Yes, it is very similar to the German cigarette card albums of the 1920’s and 1930’s. I will not attempt to list all the aircraft, but among them are the Fokker D. VII, Montgolfier Balloon (?), ME 262, and Lockheed Tristar. On the back cover it says that the cards were given free with the purchase of Brooke Bond Tea and tea bags.
