This is a jeweler’s scale. It is not antique, but manufactured recently. It is an old-school jeweler’s scale, where one places the object to be weighed in one basket and then adds weights to the other basket to determine the first item’s weight. It is a complete set, with all the accessories stored in the provided storage container. The blue/black-velvet-covered storage box measures 8 3/8″ x 4 ½” x 1.” As you open the box, you will notice that all the necessary pieces are stored in various cutout spaces. The open box provides a base to set up the scale. A vertical rod screws into the bottom, allowing one to set up the scale. Included are numerous weights: 20 gm (1), 10 gm (2), 5 gm (1), 2 gm (2), and 1 gm (1). Other accessories also are included, such as a pair of tweezers.
