Description
This is a postcard of the Small or Light Cruiser S. M. S. Kolberg. She was the lead ship of the four ship Kolberg Class. She was commissioned in 1910. She saw extensive service during WW I, including the Battle of Heligoland, the Battle of Doggerbank, and the Battle of the Baltic Islands. After WW I she was delivered to the French, who used her in their Navy until 1927. She was then scrapped in 1929. In this postcard she is seen anchored off the coast of some nation. Tenders are seen coming and going from her. She has two kriegsflagges hoisted at her stern and amidships. The postcard was not mailed.
