Description
This is a large-format original photograph of an observation balloon, which measures 6 1/2″ x 4 5/8.” It shows an observation balloon in the process of being inflated prior to flight. A large Iron Cross can be seen on the balloon’s side. A date is penciled on the reverse, 28 October 1918, which is about two weeks before the war’s end.
