Description
This is a very striking, large-format table medal depicting “Iron Chancellor” Otto von Bismarck. The silver-toned table medal measures 2 ¾” in diameter.
The obverse shows a high relief bust of von Bismarck in profile, wearing a pickelhaube. Von Bismarck’s likeness is highly-detailed, including his massive mustache and stern visage. Circling around his likeness is the legend declaring him the master-builder of the German Empire, “Fürst Bismarck Der Baumeister des Deutschen Reichs.”
The reverse shows his coat of arms and a lengthy quote.
