SAXONY – SHOULDER BOARDS – LEUTNANT – SERVING AS SAXON KÖNIG’S FLÜGELADJUTANT

$895.00

This is a very rare pair of Leutnant’s shoulder boards for Saxon König Friedrich August III’s (1865-1932) Flügeladjutant. [I am speculating that their owner was a member of royalty or nobility to possess such a low military rank yet serve as an aide to the King of Saxony]. These shoulder boards are of the sewn-in variety rather than the slip-ons more often sported by higher-ranking officers. The boards are in mint condition, so they probably were NOT used on a uniform. The shoulder boards, which each measure 1 ¼” x 4 ½,” sport the King’s gilt royal cypher, a large gilt Saxon Crown, and gilt buttons. Each board’s reverse displays a red felt backing. They would make a superb addition to any collection.
